How My World Changed
From all outward appearances, I was living "the life." I had a beautiful home
in Boulder, CO. I was married. We lived comfortably—going to concerts,
traveling the world, and wanting for nothing.
On the outside, I seemed happy. But it took contracting Clostridioides
difficile (commonly known as C. diff), nearly dying, and then starving fo
three years for me to finally admit that my life was a mess. In the aftermath o
C. diff, I lost my marriage, my home, the place I loved living, and everything
that defined my lif
As I stood in the basement of my new home on the first day after the worl
locked down for Covid, I recognized that something was very wrong. I was
terrified. But in that terror, I reached out and began "doing the work" on m
inner world, my inner child, and myself. I defined my values and prioritie
and that was a game changer. From there, I started hiking, which continues to
expand my world in ways I could never have imagined in my previous life.
Through this work, I’ve learned not to be a victim of my circumstances. I’ve
learned not to live from a place of scarcity but instead from abundance. I’ve
realized that I can create the life I want because I am powerful. My life is
whatever I choose it to be.
This path has compelled me to support others in creating their most beautiful
life—a life rooted in their values and priorities. A life that is entirely theirs,
not dictated by fear or the expectations of others.
What else is there, really?
